Events to Attend this Month

March in Colorado beckons with the promise of spring, inviting residents and visitors alike to embrace the changing seasons amidst snowy days and sunny interludes.

From the lively St. Patrick's Day parade to inspiring interior home design events, there's no shortage of ways to welcome the season and enjoy the outdoors.

Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade

From the vibrant green decorations to the spirited music and dance performances, the parade offers a delightful celebration of Irish heritage. Attendees can enjoy marching bands, colorful floats, and enthusiastic crowds, creating a memorable atmosphere.

Event Overview:

  • Dates and Times: Saturday March 16
  • Location: Downtown Colorado Springs
  • "Pedalin' St. Pat's": If you're up for an intermediate or challenging ride sign up for the the "Pedalin' St. Pat's" bike ride. The intermediate course is just over 20 miles and the challenging course is 30 miles both rides begin at 9:30am.
  • 40th annual 5k Run: If biking isn't your thing, you can register for the 5k for St. Patricks Day run. The race begins at 10:00am, you can run singly or in a group. You can also participate in:
    • Corporate Cup: Companies can sign up to run with as a group and compete agains other companies for the ultimate bragging rights. 
    • Military Cup: Any active duty military member can join the cup, the top three finishers will receive additional recognition and prizes. 
  • Parade: The parade begins at St. Vrain Street and continues along Tejon Street where it ends at Vermijo Street.  

Tips for Attending:

  • Plan Ahead: There are multiple Downtown public parking garages located at Bijou & Cascade, Nevada & Colorado, and Kiowa & Nevada. Street parking is available in the area, meters will be active. Be sure to monitor your parking meter to avoid tickets. 
  • Prices: The parade is free to attend, some of the other activities require registration and fees. 
  • Weather:  Colorado weather can unpredictable! Given that most areas just had a snow dump it may still be cold, snowy and icy. Be sure to bring extra layers including winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarfs! 

Denver Home Show - National Western Complex

The Denver home show is a unique opportunity to shop, participate in workshops, view stunning displays to inspire your next home project, and interact with industry experts in home improvement and design.

Event Overview:

  • Dates and Times: March 22 & 23 10:00a-8:00p and March 24 10:00a-6:00p
  • Location: National Western Complex 4655 Humboldt Street Denver, CO 80216
  • Plan Ahead: Before you go to the show you may want to visit the online exhibitors list, you can save your favorites and plan your visit so you don't miss anything! Click here for the interactive list
  • Special Guests: HGTV's "Unsellable Houses" hosts Leslie Davis and Lyndsay Lamb will be appearing on at the Fresh Ideas stage Friday and Saturday at 1:00

Tips for Attending:

  • Tickets: Tickets are $10 for general admission (Ages 13+) and $7 for seniors. 
  • Parking: Parking is available at the venue for $15

"Easter Train" - Royal Gorge Route Railroad

Before you dye the eggs and hide them for your annual Easter egg hunt, jump aboard the Royal Gorge Railroad on the Easter Train!

Event Overview:

  • Dates and Times: March 30-31 - 12:30 departure
  • Location: 5050 Pikes Peak Highway Cascade, CO
  • Train Ride: Enjoy a three-course Easter brunch while marveling at the beautiful views of the Colorado landscape. 

Tips for Attending:

  • Tickets: Prices range from $84-$199 per ticket, purchase in advance online
  • Plan Ahead: Arrival time is 45 minutes prior to departure, give yourself plenty of time to find parking, collect your tickets, and board the train. Train ride is approximately 1.5 hours. 
  • Weather: While it may be warm inside the train be sure to dress appropriately for arrival and departure at the train station.
