Janelle Walston, founder of Walston Group Real Estate, built her business with a clear vision—an independent real estate company focused on expressing creative freedom across a variety of real estate ventures.
Originally from Hitchcock, South Dakota, Janelle grew up in a small-town setting with a graduating class of just 15 before spending time in Albuquerque and Northern California before making Colorado her home in 1992.
Her experience covers every facet of the real estate industry, from early work in property management to the design, development, and marketing of residential lofts as well as residential homes. That hands-on background continues to shape her approach, allowing her to guide clients through every stage of the process—from acquisition and design to construction, marketing, and sale—delivering a consistently elevated level of service.
Janelle is widely known as “The Loft Lady” for her long-standing involvement in downtown Colorado Springs. Since 2000, she has partnered in the development and construction of multiple loft projects throughout the downtown core and Old Colorado City. She is a trusted resource and partner for building owners and developers, with a strong understanding of both the product and the market.
In addition to loft development, Janelle leads the Walston Group Special Projects team, focusing on historic rehabilitation and new construction. She has been directly involved in the renovation of numerous properties and the design/ build of new homes, with experience spanning architectural planning, interior design, construction oversight, and sales. She has also represented many new home builders over the years, bringing strategic marketing and project positioning to each development.
Janelle remains actively engaged in the growth of downtown Colorado Springs and has a long-standing appreciation for the arts. She is a seasoned traveler who has visited destinations all over the world, with time frequently spent in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
