Broker Associate/Project Design/Historic Preservation

As the daughter of Walston Group’s founder, Janelle Walston, Charise started in the family real estate business at a very young age. She went on to study Historic Preservation, graduating from the University of Colorado first with a Bachelor’s degree in English and History and then a Master’s degree in History. She has been a licensed Realtor since 2007. In 2009, she founded a complementary company, The Preservation Studio, which provides comprehensive historic preservation consulting services to clients across the state. Charise’s strength lies in her extensive experience, broad knowledge of the built environment, and most importantly, her adaptability which allows her to simultaneously work in many different areas of the real estate field.

Project Design and Management: Charise serves as a Project Designer and Manager for the Walston Group Special Projects Team. Whether it be a single-family home renovation, new construction or lofts, she is involved in every aspect of a design – from large scale to tiny details. Past design projects include four downtown loft developments and more than two dozen renovations/new construction projects.

Charise also provides project design and management for existing clients looking to renovate their homes in various ways such as kitchen remodeling, bath updating, and basement finishing. She guides them through the entire process from crafting a design vision to selecting finishes, engaging contractors and managing the construction schedule. Her design portfolio also includes the finish selection and merchandising for several model homes.

Residential Real Estate: Charise enjoys working with both buyers and sellers, and her clientele includes everyone from first time home buyers to empty nesters and loft/condo owners. She is also responsible for identifying prospective projects for the Walston Group Special Projects Team.

Historic Preservation: Charise brings her educational background and vast experience at The Preservation Studio to her real estate practice, offering clients the benefit of understanding buildings inside and out. She has completed more than 50 Historic Structure Assessments across the State of Colorado, raised more than $20 million in grant/tax credit funding and successfully completed more than 200 preservation projects of varying sizes. She understands how to plan for a project, obtain financing from non-traditional sources, and manage every aspect from project inception to completion.

  Some of Charise's Rave Reviews:

Group 146

I worked with Charise and Angela on the sale of my condo. I was on a fast timeline and they went above and beyond from start to finish to make sure everything was taken care of. The property was fairly unique without a lot of similar properties on the market. Charise put together a very well researched recommendation on how I should price the property. I felt really good about it  knowing that it was what the market would bear. We got it on the market fast and also got a great offer, fast! There was a little curve ball in an extra approval the buyer needed to obtain. Charise and Angela worked to make sure they had all the required paperwork to facilitate the sale. They explained everything I signed in depth along the way so I knew what it was and kept me informed on what was next. I can't say enough about the high standard of service that was provided. I trust them without a doubt. I had an outstanding experience and recommend the Walston Group wholeheartedly. "
